Once you've got an interface that works, there are some guides on optimizing Windows 10/11 for recording (Sweetwater's website has a pretty good basic rundown). It also opens up the possibility of getting studio monitors down the line, and having a dedicated mix software & separate monitor/headphone mixes isn't too bad either (: But if it works, you can still record direct with the Katana using the Rec Out, plus you have the benefit of being able to mic it to get a different record tone.
MICROSOFT SURFACE ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD DRIVER ERROR UPDATE
This update can be rolled back to the previous driver in about 20 seconds via device manager. So updating the Bluetooth keyboard driver and the yellow mark USB driver will help fix the problem.
Normally, it caused by the Bluetooth device driver or the USB driver. If your Bluetooth keyboard cannot work properly, maybe it caused by the driver issue. Installing this driver may result in regressions on Surface. Solution 3: Update Bluetooth Keyboard Driver. Worst case scenario is you still get driver errors and you just return it, though I can't see why it'd have issues. This is not a Surface-specific driver release but is an release that applies to a wide variety of hardware. You could try picking up a 3rd gen Scarlett 2i2 from a local retailer just to verify that it works. I don't personally have experience with the Boss Tone Studio software, but for recording purposes I would generally recommend getting a dedicated recording interface, especially for Windows where driver support can be kind of a nightmare.
